DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Unity\, Culture & Togetherness \nOn April 11th\, 2025\, iCET proudly hosted a vibrant and meaningful Avurudu Dayout at the scenic Laya Beach — a celebration filled with tradition\, joy\, unity\, and heartfelt connection. Organized with the enthusiastic support of our incredible students\, this event honored the rich cultural heritage of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. \nFrom traditional games and laughter to shared meals and dance\, every moment reflected the spirit of togetherness that defines the iCET community. More than a festive gathering\, it was a celebration of the powerful values that fuel our journey — unity\, love\, and respect. \nAt iCET\, we believe that strong bonds create strong teams. This Avurudu season reminded us that when we stand together\, we rise higher — as one family\, one force. \nHere’s to the memories made\, the friendships strengthened\, and the spirit of Avurudu that lives on in all of us.

DESCRIPTION:A Peaceful Pause to Refocus \nOur recent mindfulness session\, in collaboration with the Sathi Pasala Foundation\, was a refreshing reminder of the power of presence. Students were guided through meditation practices\, learning how to embrace peace\, clarity\, and focus in the present moment. \nIn today’s fast-paced world\, taking a pause to reflect and calm the mind is essential for mental well-being. We are grateful to the Sati Pasala Foundation for leading us on this journey toward mindfulness and tranquility.

SUMMARY:iCET at the Earth Summit 2025
DESCRIPTION:Empowering Innovation for a Sustainable Future \nWe were honored to collaborate with Earth Summit 2025\, organized by Planet Protectors LK\, where technology and environmental responsibility came together to spark real change. \nRepresenting iCET\, Dr. Niroth Samarawickrama and Mr. Dewmal Handapangoda brought forward thought-provoking insights while SYIGEN showcased their innovative SAFE APP– a crowdsourcing platform tackling the human-elephant conflict in Sri Lanka. \nOur Software Engineering trainees actively contributed to this effort\, gaining real-world exposure and practical learning. Additionally\, iCET introduced AGRO APP\, a student-built solution aimed at transforming Sri Lanka’s agricultural landscape through technology. \nWe’re proud to have taken part in this meaningful initiative\, reinforcing our commitment to using tech for social and environmental good.
